Izzy's Fish & Oyster Restaurant in Miami Beach
I was recently invited to a food tasting social at the super cool Izzy’s Fish & Oyster restaurant in Miami. I’m always on the lookout for fab new restaurants in the area, and it’s a treat to have an excuse to dust off my food critic hat.
I’m happy to report that Izzy’s makes the cut. My plus-one and I tried the lobster poutine, fried clam bellies, and of course, the oysters. They were all marvelous. The oysters are especially a delight. But may I add as no small aside that the drinks were amazing. Mind you, I’m not that into mixed drinks (give me wine any time), but our bartender Jaime was a wizard with her potions. I recommend you try the “Wicked Smashed” (my favorite), the “Izzy’s Fizzy,” and the “P.S.D.S” (Pierced Ears). You’ll feel dru- I mean, happy, in no time.
The vibe of Izzy’s is classic Miami Beach – beautiful, colorful, and charming. It’s a great place to sit down with family or belly up to the bar with friends or a fun girl’s night out. Izzy’s Fish & Oyster is owned by the talented chef, Jamie De Rosa. Check it out at 423 Washington Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139.
